The challenge

Complete the 9×9 grid without repeating numbers in rows, columns or blocks.

How to play

  1. Fill every row with the numbers 1 to 9 without repetition.
  2. Do the same in every column: all nine numbers must appear exactly once.
  3. Each 3×3 block must also contain 1 to 9 with no duplicates.
  4. Select a cell and use the keypad below the board. Enable Notes when you want to record small candidates.

Advanced strategies

  • Before guessing, scan row, column and block for unique candidates; record possibilities without committing to an answer.
  • Blue numbers are your entries; fixed clues remain white.
  • All solving controls are below the board: numbers, undo, redo, erase, notes, auto-notes and hint.
  • Enable Notes or press N to record small candidates without committing to a final answer.
  • Thick lines separate the nine 3×3 blocks, while the selection also highlights its row, column and block.
  • If you repeat a number, conflicting cells are marked red before you check the puzzle.
